A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Thea is a confident, affectionate girl with a sparkle in her eye and a heart full of devotion. She’s excitable in all the best ways ready to greet you with joy, gentle in play, and soak up every ounce of attention you’re willing to give. But she’s just as content to sit quietly at your feet, gazing up with soulful eyes that say, “I’m yours.”

She’s the most loving little soul you could hope to meet gentle, loyal, and endlessly endearing. That said, don’t be fooled by her princess charm: Thea has a cheeky, stubborn streak that keeps life interesting. She knows what she wants, and she’s not afraid to ask for it (usually with a well-placed stare or a nudge of her nose).

All in all, Thea is the perfect blend of sass and sweetness. She’ll make you laugh, make you feel loved, and make every day brighter just by being herself.

Behaviour:

Thea is a loving, confident little girl who thrives with gentle guidance and emotional support. While she’s full of affection and charm, she can be sensitive to certain situations and benefits from a calm, reassuring environment.

She’s not a fan of the hoover and may need a quiet space or distraction when it’s in use. When meeting other dogs, Thea has shown fear and reactivity in the past but with patience and positive reinforcement, she’s made wonderful progress. Using treats, cuddles, and calm distractions when other dogs are nearby helps her feel safe and supported.

Needs:

Thea is looking for a special kind of family one that’s active enough to keep her engaged, but calm and steady enough to help her feel safe. She needs people who see beyond the surface, who understand that confidence takes time, and who are ready to walk beside her as she learns the world isn’t so scary after all.

She’s not a rough-and-tumble kind of girl play doesn’t come naturally to her just yet, and toys are still a bit of a mystery. But what she lacks in playfulness, she makes up for in heart. Thea responds beautifully to love, structure, and gentle reassurance. With consistent encouragement and a family who can read her emotional cues, she’ll continue to blossom into the secure, happy dog she’s meant to be.

A secure garden is essential for her to explore safely and build confidence at her own pace.

If you’re patient, emotionally attuned, and ready to invest in a truly rewarding bond, Thea could be your perfect little companion. She doesn’t need perfection just someone willing to show her she’s home.

Walk/exercise:

Thea enjoys a gentle stroll and thrives on calm, consistent outings that help her feel secure. She must be walked on lead in public, as she’s uncomfortable with other dogs in her space and needs time to build confidence in busier environments.

Ongoing training using positive distraction techniques like treats, praise, and gentle reassurance is key to helping Thea feel safe and supported while out and about. With patience and a steady routine, she’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all.

While she’s not a high-energy dog, regular walks are important for her wellbeing and emotional balance. Thea doesn’t need adventure she just needs someone who’ll walk beside her, read her cues, and help her feel safe every step of the way.

Toilet trained:

Thea may have accidents initially as she settles, regular routine and setting clear expectations and Thea will soon understand what you expect of her.

Travel:

Thea travels well, either in the boot or she settles on the back seat. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:

Thea needs to be an only dog.

Sometimes Thea is excited to greet you but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Thea’s story.

Please welcome 2 year old Thea into our Springboard family.

Thea was left out on the street and found herself in the pound. The breeder was on her M/C but couldn’t remember who she sold her puppy to !! …but luckily for Thea her life changed for the better because after her 7 days were up, she came into foster with Debra in the North East.

Thank you to Emma Turnbull for collecting Thea for us and for Debra for offering to foster this little girl, great effort ladies, thank you very much

Thea has come to us with a cherry eye and a deeply infected tail pocket which is irritating her and she was filthy and stinking to high heaven, so she has been bathed and she is settling well.

She has been a real poppet so far, and she is loving being back in a home

Thea will have her vet check today and we are hoping we can get on top of the tail pocket infection without the need for tail removal. Obviously, she will need her cherry eye repocketing (if they can) and her spay
