Tilly – Now Adopted!

#Tilly Is Home!

We are so excited to tell you that Tilly went home on Saturday, she was collected by her new pawrents Debbie and Chris!

She has wasted no time in making herself settled in her new environment!

Tilly came in to care at the end of January. We were alerted to her by a kennel in the Yorkshire region, a member of the public had found Tilly roaming around on her own, another lost soul left without any love.

Our wonderful volunteer Aimee stepped on in to collect Tilly quickly and has resided with her since with the lovely and patient foster brother Ted! Tilly soon tested her foster parents and foster bro, but with determination, Tilly started to settle with them.

Thank you so so so much Aimee for another incredible foster. We know you love Tilly and we’re so grateful to you for putting the time into this girl and offering her love when that’s all she really needed.  Tilly won’t forget you.

Now to her new pawrents – congratulations to you all, we’re so thrilled that she has landed on her paws with you.

We look forward to seeing updates on our girl Tilly

Now Tilly, please be the good girl we know you are, you’re safe, you’re loved and you’re home

Please everyone send your congratulations to Tilly and your forever slaves Debbie & Chris

Dogs name: Tilly.

Age: 2 years old.

Current location: Thornton, Bradford.

I CAN LIVE WITH

Children: Dog savvy children.

Cats: No.

Dogs: No.

A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Tilly is “women’s/man’s best friend” preferring her human’s company above all else. Her affectionate nature thrives at your side.

Tilly at such a young age has such an old soul, with a cheeky glint in her eye that will keep you guessing what happens next.

Behaviour:

Tilly has had very little training in her life prior to GBSR, however she is a foodie and will respond to any positive reinforcement where food is used as an incentive.

Tilly resource guards when it comes to other dog’s, because of this Tilly is best suited to a life where she can be a treasured only dog.

Tilly is learning what toys are but is still unsure of how to play and she is intimidated by rough play with humans.

Needs:

Tilly needs a calm but active family environment, with a family who understands the behaviours of the breed and can continue her training journey and put firm boundaries in place to ensure she continues to thrive.

We would recommend ongoing training in all aspects for Tilly, she thrives on one-to-one connection with her humans so taking a little time each day to work on even the smallest of commands will ensure the bond between Tilly and her humans will grow strong.

A garden is a must for this lady, as she will love to bathe in the warmer months.

Tilly will need to be an only princess in the home.

Walk/exercise:

Tilly isn’t the greatest fan of her walks.

Tilly can be anxious of strangers and new environments and can bark and growl at dogs.

But with continued training and building her confidence she will learn to love to explore new environments and be able to ignore other dogs in a close proximity.

Toilet trained:

Tilly has taken very well to toilet training; she will need a toileting routine to understand what is expected of her in her new home.

Travel:

Tilly travels well and will settle down on the backseat. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Tilly will be going home on a “to be spayed” contract. Tilly will be recalled in May 2025 to be spayed at a vet of the charity’s choosing. Costs will be covered by the charity.

Sometimes Tilly is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Tilly’s bright and outgoing nature makes her ideal for a family who have time and a passion for training their dogs. She has such potential, all that she is missing is her happy ever after family.

Tilly’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Tilly’s story below,

Please welcome 2 year old Tilly into our Springboard Family

Sadly, Tilly is another young girl who found herself in kennels after being collected after being found as a stray on the streets.

We want to thank Aimee Hullah for offering to foster Tilly for us and for collecting her from the kennels we are very grateful, thank you

Tilly is a bit of a ‘chonky’, so she will be on a reducing diet for a little while to get her back into tip top shape.
She has been bred from, and she has just come into season, so she won’t be spayed for a while yet.
She has met Ted the resident dog, but she is being a bit spikey, possibly due to her season, so Aimee is keeping them both separate with supervised walks and time together and we will see how this goes.
Tilly has had a nice bath and thorough clean already as she was pretty whiffy from her kennel stay – and she loved the pamper and attention

She has started coughing and she has a snotty nose, so this will be discussed during her vet check, but we suspect the poor love has Kennel Cough . Otherwise, she looks to be in good health
