A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Willow is a sweet, affectionate, and loyal girl who thrives on being close to her humans. She loves attention, enjoys being fussed over, and often follows her favourite person around the house.

Willow is playful and curious, she has a cheeky side that shines through in her love of toys, exploring new things, or simply trying to sneak onto the sofa.

Willow can be a little stubborn at times, but she is also clever, humorous, and eager to please when guided with patience. In the evenings, she settles into a calm, relaxed state, happy to snooze peacefully by your side.

Behaviour:

Willow is people-focused and bonds strongly with her “number one” person.

Willow enjoys play, both gentle and rougher, and can get excitable with trusted humans but always responds well to cues to stop.

Willow shows no possessiveness with toys or food and has a gentle, easy-going nature.

While generally confident, she can be startled by sudden noises, but she remains calm in the moment.

Willow can follow basic commands such as sit, paw, and wait. she usually responds straight away.

Willow thrives in a calm, reassuring environment where she feels safe and included.

Needs:

Willow needs a home where she can be the only dog, as she wants her humans all to herself.

Willow requires company during the day, as she can become anxious if left alone for too long, particularly if she thinks no one is home.

Willow would suit a calm, stable environment with plenty of affection, light play, and a consistent feeding routine will help her feel secure.

Walk/exercise:

Willow is always enthusiastic about going for a walk and is easy to get ready with her collar and lead.

Willow does pull at times, though she is improving with training, especially when encouraged to stop and wait.

She enjoys sniffing plants and exploring her surroundings, occasionally pausing if startled by noises.

Willow is generally calm around other dogs, although she has shown she prefers to stay close to her human.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Willow is a good girl

Travel:

Willow finds travel a little stressful, so she’ll need patient reassurance on car journeys.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:

Willow can become anxious if she is left alone for too long, so she will need a home where someone is present for most of the day to provide her with reassurance and company. She is best suited as the only dog in the household, as she thrives on having all the attention and affection focused on her.

When it comes to mealtimes, Willow can sometimes be fussy with her kibble and may need a little encouragement or support to finish her food.

Willow tolerates brushing well, but she does not like having her nose, ears, or skin folds handled, so this requires patience and a gentle approach.

Sometimes Willow is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Willow’s foster:

Willow is a clever, affectionate, and charming dog who absolutely adores her humans and thrives on one-on-one attention. She has a cheeky, playful streak, sneaking on sofas, investigating new objects, or chasing bees in the garden but she’s happiest when she’s near her number one person, supervising, cuddling, or quietly sharing the day. She’s a little stubborn at times but she’s alert and lively during the day, though she relaxes completely by evening. She’s brave, curious, and clever, with a humorous personality that will make her forever family laugh, and she’s looking for a home where she can be loved, appreciated, and have her quirks celebrated. Willow will give so much love and joy to her forever family.

Willow’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Please join us in welcoming Willow back into our Springboard family

Willow was adopted late 2021 by Ashleigh and her family and all was well initially. But over the years Willow has been a right madam with resident Bassett Hound Woody

We have been in regular contact with Ashleigh, providing support and guidance, but sometimes a dog just cannot share their space with another dog. So it was with a broken heart that Ashleigh asked us to take Willow back into foster

Thank you for giving Willow every opportunity to stay with your family Ashleigh, and for trying so hard with her. We are very sorry it hasn’t worked out and we are sure, now the little madam has left the building you can all relax, especially Woody who has taken the brunt of her spiciness

Willow is now in a dog free foster home with Gail Agrisanti and her partner Daren in the South East. And after a bit of an unsettled night, Willow is settling well now there is no other dog to deal with.
Huge gratitude to Gail for taking Willow into foster for us, we really appreciate it, thank you

Willow will have a vet and weight check today as she is carrying a bit too much junk in the trunk, but other than that, she seems to be in good health.

So lets welcome Willow back into our family and we are looking forward to seeing her flourish
