A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Wilson is a gentle, affectionate boy with a true bulldog spirit — a mix of stubbornness, sass, and sweetness

Wilson adores cuddles, bum scratches, and having his ears fussed over. He’s got an easy-going, snoozy side but is also playful and curious about the world.

Once he feels secure, his cheeky charm and loving nature really shine through.

 Behaviour:

Wilson gets on brilliantly with the other dogs and adjusts his play style to suit them. He’s learning to read social cues and can be gently redirected when he gets a bit over-enthusiastic.

Wilson knows a few basic commands — he can sit and wait for short periods, especially when food is involved. He’s still learning consistency and can become easily distracted, so ongoing positive reinforcement training will really help him progress.

Wilson isn’t keen on rough play but loves attention and affection from his humans.

He does bark at noises and when left alone but is improving daily, settling more quickly each time.

Needs:

Wilson thrives on routine, gentle guidance, and calm encouragement. He needs a patient home that understands bulldog quirks

A garden is a must for Wilson so he can potter around and play.

Walk/exercise:

Wilson walks well on the lead, full of enthusiasm and curiosity. He enjoys long walks and has no known triggers.

Wilsonwalks happily both on his own and alongside other dogs, adjusting well to a group setting.

Wilson hasn’t had much direct interaction with unfamiliar dogs while out on walks , but he’s shown very calm, neutral behaviour so far.

Wilson would benefit from a steady routine of daily walks and enrichment, as he thrives on both physical activity and gentle mental stimulation — like sniffing games or exploring new places at his own pace.

Toilet trained:

Yes. Fully house-trained, though he may mark during his settling-in period. He will go to the door when he needs to go out.

Travel:

Wilson is a brilliant traveller — settles quickly and usually falls asleep in the car. Because of this we would consider home up to four hours from his location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Wilson sleeps soundly in his crate at night and sees so will need a crate in his new home as it is his safe space.

Wilson has mild ear issues which require regular cleaning and ongoing monitoring, plus joint support (YuMOVE).

Wilson has recently undergone Entropion surgery so will require eye drops and wont be rehomed until singed off from the vets.

Sometimes Wilson is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Wilsons foster:

We haven’t had Wilson for long, but he’s already left a big paw print on all of our hearts.  He’s a calm, quiet, and completely infectious little bulldog, the kind of soul who doesn’t need to say much to make his presence known.

It took him a while to settle in, and we can’t blame him, he’s had a lot of changes to go through. But once he started to feel at home, his personality came through loud and clear. Sassy, stubborn, and full of bulldog charm, Wilson has been a character we won’t soon forget.

We’re going to miss him so much.

Wilsons’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Please welcome the very handsome Wilson into the arms of our Springboard family

Wilson is an entire 5-year-old boy who has been very much loved, spoilt and treated like a Prince by his owner.

But sadly, circumstances have changed, and Wilsons owner had to face the heart-breaking reality of finding Wilson a new home, one where he will always be treated with the love and kindness he has had since he was a puppy.

So, when we were asked if we could take Wilson we said yes and started arrangements to bring him into foster

We want to thank Cherie Williams for taking Wilson into foster and he is now residing in Wales with Cherie’s family and other dogs. Thank you for giving up your time and home for one of our dogs Cherie, it’s very much appreciated

Wilson had a settled first night and he has met GBSR girl #Debs, and Frenchie Bruce.
Wilson and Debs have bonded straight away, Bruce and Wilson need a little bit more time, so Cherie is taking them out on walks together and letting them in the same space little and often and the signs so far are positive

Wilson has been fed human food so he isn’t keen on dog food right now and will actively seek out anyone eating so he can get a nosh..!! … and he loves to sleep whenever he can… and that’s most of the time

We couldn’t describe Wilson as a high energy dog, more of a slow burner … but a gorgeous one at that

Later this week Wilson will have his vet check, and we can discuss he neuter and get that booked in.

Wilson is a very sweet boy, and we think he will be popular so please look out for his posts on here or on our Community Group

So please join us in welcoming this charming boy into GBSR UK we are all looking forward to following his journey
