A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Annie is a loving, cuddly and wonderfully relaxed little lady with the sweetest nature. She adores human company and is happiest when she’s right by your side or more accurately, under your feet following you from room to room just to be close. She thrives on affection and soaks up cuddles, strokes and tickles with pure joy. Annie is the kind of dog who makes you feel loved simply by being near you.
Annie is also a bright, expressive character with a huge personality. She watches everything going on around her even the TV and has a nosy, inquisitive interest in anything that moves. She loves to make friends, loves to play, and brings a warm, happy energy into the home.
She’s also a wonderfully vocal girl. Annie loves to “join in” with family conversations, adding her own little bulldog commentary simply because she wants to be part of the fun. It’s funny, endearing, and one of the many things that makes her so special.
Playful, affectionate, curious and full of heart, Annie is a truly delightful girl with so much love to give. She will make her forever family feel adored every single day.
Behaviour:
Annie has a long‑standing obsession with footballs and will not willingly let go once she has one. This is a behaviour her foster carers were made aware of early on. The good news is that she has made lovely progress with dog‑safe balls, and she now enjoys fetch and will release these toys much more reliably. She can, however, guard toys from other dogs at times, but she allows people to take it from her without issue. This is simply a boundary she sets with other dogs, not humans.
Her play style can look rough, but it is normal bulldog play full of noise, enthusiasm and body language that can seem dramatic but is entirely appropriate for the breed. With people, Annie is gentle, observant and well‑mannered. She does not engage in rough play with humans and reads the room beautifully.
Annie can take food very quickly, especially high‑value treats. With ongoing training using the cue “nicely,” and she is already showing improvement. She is food‑motivated and will eat anything she’s allowed to, but she does not steal food. She has a good routine and eats separately from the resident dog to avoid any tension.
She is inquisitive and interacts well with people and dogs. Her humping behaviour has reduced significantly with consistent boundaries and a simple “no,” and continues to improve. Annie has also shown a lovely, gentle side with the 7‑year‑old neighbour who visits weekly. She follows her around, wants to join in her games, and adjusts her behaviour to be softer and more careful.
Annie is a clever, affectionate girl who thrives with structure, clear boundaries and people who understand bulldog behaviour. With the right home, she will continue to blossom into the funny, loving, well‑rounded companion she is meant to be.
Needs:
Annie is a well‑rounded, spirited little lady who will thrive in an active home. She loves to walk, run and play, and she needs regular exercise to keep her happy and fulfilled. For a bulldog, she has exceptional stamina and her speed is something her new family will quickly learn to admire.
She is also a vocal girl who loves to be involved in family life. Annie “joins in” with her funny bulldog chatter simply because she wants to be part of the conversation. It’s endearing, but her adopters should enjoy a dog with a voice and a big personality.
Annie will need owners who understand the bulldog breed, including the importance of boundaries, structure and managing her allergy‑related health needs. A secure garden is essential, giving her space to run, explore and burn off her energy safely.
If living with another dog, they should be playful but laid‑back and accepting of Annie’s enthusiasm. She enjoys canine company but needs a dog who won’t be overwhelmed by her energy or her love of joining in.
Children in the home should be 12+ and able to respect Annie’s boundaries especially around balls, which she can become very focused on.
Annie will flourish with a family who embraces her zest for life, understands her needs, and can offer her the active, loving home she deserves.
Walk/exercise:
Annie enjoys gentle, steady walks where she can feel safe and stay close to her humans. She walks nicely on the lead and benefits from an extendable lead so she can potter and sniff at her own pace.
She hasn’t been tested off‑lead in open spaces, but in an enclosed field she wanders calmly, sniffing and exploring while always staying close by. She is not a dog who strays far from her people.
Annie is polite and calm around other dogs on walks. She may pause to watch them, but she doesn’t bark, pull or try to interact, and will simply move away if she’s had enough.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Annie is a good girl.
Travel:
Annie travels very well, she will settle and sleep.
Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from her current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Annie has allergies and must be kept on her current diet Purina hypoallergenic kibble.
Annie has high levels of fur loss, believed to be due to stress.
Annie has previously had TPLO prior to GBSR care, it is important that her adoptive family understand that she is a risk for cruciate rupture in the future.
Sometimes Annie is excited to play but don’t realise their size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over and Annie will take toys/balls from children.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Annie’s foster family:

Annie’s story.
We’d like to introduce you to the newest member of our Springboard family, Annie
Annie was surrendered into our care following a relationship breakdown. Heartbreakingly, her owner could no longer afford to keep up with her healthcare and made the incredibly difficult, selfless decision to give Annie the chance at a better life. As always, we ask for no judgement and polite comments only
Annie has already undergone TPLO surgery and may require another, as she is showing signs of weakness in her legs.
She also has severe fur loss across her body, leaving her almost completely bald, with irritated skin — something we know we can help her overcome with the right diet, time, care, medication, and lots of love
She will, of course, be booked in with our vets for a full health check soon
She has been welcomed into foster by Sarah and Mark in Yorkshire, where she will be gently nursed back to full health and shown the kindness and comfort she truly deserves
She has already met resident foster fur-sis Margo, and the two seem to be getting on well. As always, introductions will remain slow and gradual, and we’re hopeful this continues
Welcome to the Springboard family, sweetheart… you’re safe now, and we’ll have you feeling like yourself again in no time.
We’d like to remind you that Annie has only just arrived into foster and will undergo a full assessment, along with any necessary healthcare, prior to being made available for adoption. Please do not try to apply for her at this time.
