A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Caroline is a loving, affectionate, and gentle young who girl, she adores cuddles and human company.

Caroline can start off a little shy with new noises and situations, but her confidence grows daily.

She is Playful, sweet-natured, and sociable, she’s happiest when snuggled up with her people or a doggy friend.

Behaviour:

Caroline settled into her foster home quickly, showing no signs of any negative behaviour or guarding.

Caroline is a calm girl, she enjoys gentle play, and is relaxed when being handled, groomed, or bathed. She can be a little jumpy with unfamiliar sounds but responds well to reassurance. She’s food motivated, which makes training enjoyable and effective.

Caroline knows her basic commands and will happily listen to them especially when a treat is involved.

Needs:

Caroline would benefit from a calm and loving home where she’ll receive gentle guidance, continued lead training, and plenty of affection.

Caroline will need time to adjust to her new environment and patience while she learns new routines and feels secure. With calm reassurance, gentle guidance, and plenty of positive reinforcement, she will continue to blossom into a confident, trusting, and affectionate companion.

A garden is a must for Caroline to play and explore in,

Walk/exercise:

Caroline currently enjoys two short walks a day and gets excited when her harness comes out. She walks nicely with her foster brother and is improving on the lead.

Caroline is curious but sometimes startled by loud or new noises. Off-lead recall is good in safe, enclosed areas.

Caroline is generally calm and friendly when meeting new dogs. If the other dog is relaxed, she enjoys saying hello and showing gentle curiosity. However, if another dog barks or approaches too quickly, she can become a little unsure and prefers to stand quietly beside her human for reassurance. She doesn’t react negatively — she simply seeks comfort and waits until she feels safe again.

Toilet trained:
Yes – Caroline had a few accidents initially but is now fully house trained, using regular garden breaks and positive reinforcement.

Travel:

Caroline travels well both on the seat and in a crate, though she prefers to be near someone. Because of this we will consider homes up to four hours away from her current location.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:

Caroline is too young to spay so will be re homed on a spay contract. She will be recalled when she is 18 months old for the procedure, which will be carried out at a vet chosen by the charity, with the cost covered by the charity for a basic spay.

will be re homed on a spay contract. She will be recalled in November for the procedure, which will be carried out at a vet chosen by the charity, with the cost covered by the charity for a basic spay.

Caroline is highly food motivated and tends to eat her meals quite quickly. For her safety, she should be fed using a slow feeder bowl to help her eat at a steadier pace and reduce the risk of choking.

Caroline lived a very sheltered life before coming into foster care. She will need time, patience, and plenty of reassurance as she settles into her new home, especially during her decompression period.

Caroline thrives on the reassurance and guidance of a resident dog. She will not be rehomed with an entire dog but would benefit greatly from living with a calm, laid-back neutered male companion.

Sometimes Caroline is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Carolines foster family:

Caroline is a very loving and affectionate dog, who will make you smile every day, and be the best companion for your own dog, and will not fail to melt your heart.

Please give a warm welcome to #Caroline as she joins the GBSR family

Caroline is one of three puppies rescued from a family of seven

On Friday, she was lovingly collected by her foster family, Olivia and her partner, Harry, and introduced to her new foster home — where she was greeted by resident bulldog Louie

Caroline is still finding her paws in this new chapter. Sadly, these dogs have lived very sheltered lives, with little exposure to what it means to be a true family pet. Because of this, everyday household noises feel overwhelming to her, and she’s understandably nervous and cautious.

The good news is that she’s already showing signs of slowly decompressing. At just 11 months old, this beautiful young girl has plenty of time to adapt, learn, and grow With Louie by her side as a gentle guide, we’re confident her confidence will blossom soon

Let’s all give Caroline the warmest welcome she deserves
