A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Chunk has a cheeky and affectionate nature, A real ladies’ man he will pick his person in the family!
Chunk absolutely adores children, like with his person he will seek them out for attention and play.
Chunk is an intelligent boy, with the typical stubborn streak.
Behaviour:
Chunk can be jealous of other dogs in the home and prefers his person to himself. However, displays no guarding behaviours over food or toys.
He is a gentle soul and doesn’t like rough play.
Chunk can be anxious around unfamiliar dogs whilst out the home.
Needs:
Chunk needs a calm family environment one in which his family can keep him involved in all that is daily life.
Chunk’s family must be patient and prepared to help him over come his anxiety outside the home.
A garden is a must.
A very laid-back female dog who must be accepting of another dog in the home, with no guarding behaviours.
Walk/exercise:
Chunk loves his walks; he walks very well on lead and his recall is improving.
Chunk is anxious towards unfamiliar dogs and this can result in lunging and growling, but with continued training and socialising him the right way this will improve.
Toilet trained:
Chunk is a very good boy, but he can have accidents especially when feeling stressed or anxious.
Travel:
Chunk loves a car ride; he will settle happily. Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Chunk has an extremely deep tail pocket, that will need daily cleaning. He isn’t a fan of this however will allow you to do it. Our vet has assessed the pocket as too deep for surgical intervention, so it is important that great care is taken to prevent infection. He may need antibiotics throughout his life.
Chunk is prone to ear infection, unfortunately the strain of bacteria is resistant to most antibiotics. This is something that may need to be managed throughout his life.
Sometimes Chunk is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Chunk’s foster family:
Chunk is a proper little character-but very loving! He sulks when he doesn’t get his own way but despite his many needs has been a great temporary addition to our family. He is obsessed with balls and his favourite treat is fresh fruit! Whilst not the biggest fan of other dogs he thoroughly enjoys a glass of wine in the local wine bar with his FMs and is happy to walk there and back. His work placement as the office dog has gone down a treat and although he has he occasional accident he has a face you can’t stay cross at!
Chunk’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Chunk’s story below,
Chunk
Please welcome Chunk into foster
We were recently contacted by Chunks owner to see if we could take him under our wing.
Chunk was a loved member of the family, but he has ongoing skin allergies and a deeply infected tail which needs to be addressed, and he had started to fall out with the resident dog.
So yesterday Bex and Jennifer made the 2 hours round trip to collect Chunk for us. Thank you very much for collecting him ladies and for fostering for us, we very much appreciate it
This gorgeous 3 year old entire boy has settled very well with his new BFF Miss Molly and he has spent time exploring his new digs after a good night.
Chuck will be having his vet check as soon as we can book him is as his tail is very sore and we need to get on top of his allergies.
Please don’t ask to apply for Chunk as he will require a period of assessment, but you can follow his journey in foster by joining our Facebook Community Group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1793138384086708
Welcome to your Springboard journey, Chunk
