Dottie – Now Adopted!
Dottie has gone home!
We are delighted to announce that Dottie has gone home.
Dottie’s new slaves Matthew and Lianne collected their wonderful sassy girl on yesterday.
Dottie is being the little we knew she was, and she has already cast a love spell over her new humans as they adore her.
And she has a new nosey BFF in Barney who is teaching her the best places to nosey out from.
Thank you to Aimee Ann on another fabulous foster and for preparing Dottie doodles for her forever home. You have been amazing!
So, with no further ado please join us in congratulating Lianne, Mathew, and Dottie on finding each other.
And to Dottie, have a wonderful life, beautiful girl, and we look forward to following all your new adventures.

A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Dottie is a larger-than-life character, she is confident, outgoing, lively, and loving.
Her charm and quirky temperament will give you endless hours of entertainment.
Behaviour:
Dottie doesn’t have a malicious bone in her body.
She is a sassy little girl who will answer back and can snap her mouth when told no.
Dottie will happily seek attention, whether to play or to cuddle and will bring toys to play her favourite game of tug.
Dottie can be possessive over balls, so any children in the home, must understand not to take toys from her.
Needs:
Dottie needs an active but calm family environment.
Dottie needs a family who understands the breed and their many quirks and will put the boundaries in place that she needs.
A garden is a must for her to enjoy and play.
She will benefit from a laid-back dog companion in the home, to bond with and keep company when her humans are away.
Walk/exercise:
Dottie loves her walks; she walks well both alone and in company.
She has attended charity bulldog walks and enjoyed meeting unfamiliar dogs and people.
Toilet trained:
Dottie is a good girl, she may have the odd accident initially and at night, but this isn’t a regular occurrence.
Travel:
Dottie isn’t a great fan of traveling, but she will settle and lie down on the back seat, she can bark if crated but will settle down.
Because of this we will accept applications of up to 4 hours away from her current location.
Things to be aware of:
Dottie has food allergies so must stay on her current diet Royal Canin hypoallergenic and is on Apoquel.
Dottie has had cherry eye and unfortunately had to have the tear duct removed, she may need dry eye eyedrops.
Sometimes Dottie is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information:
Dottie is an incredible personality, and she knows it. Any family will be lucky enough to adopt her, she needs a confident bulldog family who can put boundaries in place, understand her behaviours and love her hilarious antics.
A little of Dottie’s story below,
Please welcome the very adorable Dottie to our GBSR family.
Now I will start this post with a plea for absolutely no judgement. It’s very easy to make snap judgements, but they aren’t always deserved. We pride ourselves on being truthful had have no problem laying blame with those who deserve it.
#Dottie is a 2-year-old entire female,
We were contacted by a devastated owner; Dottie had developed cherry eye and she had been saving to pay for the surgery when Dottie then developed the second one, sadly she knew she couldn’t afford to fix them. Due to a change in her circumstances and a new baby, Dottie wasn’t getting the care she needed. And no matter how much she wanted to make things better she couldn’t. Dottie’s owner knew it was time to do the best thing for her beloved dog and ask for help.
Dottie is a typical young bulldog, full of excitement and with a bull in China shop enthusiasm she needed her to go to a home that can provide for her needs and bring her on to her full potential. How could we not help?
Welcome Amie-Anne and family to your very first foster journey with GBSR, huge thank you for making the mammoth journey to collect Dottie from Pembrokeshire to your home in the South West.
Dottie has settled in really well with Amie-Anne and her family, she’s already making sure FD knows she’s boss as she supervised him putting away the shopping. She loves having the children to play with and a FM to dote on her and is even enjoying the company of her foster fur sister Frenchie Ivy.
Dottie will be seeing our vets as soon as possible so we can treat the infection in her eyes and get her ready for her eye surgery and spay.
With just a little time, a good diet and the best TLC Dottie will be ready to start her Happily ever after journey.
But until then, welcome to arms of your GBSR family Dottie your new life starts here with your Springboard family we can wait to see your story unfold!!
