Personality:

Lula is the true definition of a companion dog — soft‑natured, loving, and happiest when she’s close to the people she trusts. She has a gentle, affectionate spirit and forms deep bonds with those around her. Lula adores cuddles and will always choose to spend her day relaxing in her favourite cosy spot, whether that’s curled up by your feet, stretched out beside you on the sofa, or snoozing peacefully in a patch of warm sunshine.

Despite her calm and easy going nature, Lula is also quietly brave. She approaches the world with a sweet, steady confidence and a desire to please. More than anything, she wants to feel loved and secure. Once she knows she’s safe, she gives her whole heart in return.

Lula will be utterly devoted to her forever family — a loyal, gentle companion who brings warmth, comfort, and affection to every day.

Behaviour:

Lula has a wonderfully spirited side that adds to her charm. She can be a little feisty at times, and she generally feels more comfortable around male dogs than females. This is simply part of her personality, and with calm, confident handling she settles beautifully.

She can also be quite enthusiastic about her food and may guard it if she feels unsure, so a bit of space during mealtimes helps her feel safe and relaxed. Lula isn’t overly playful, but she has her own sweet quirks — she loves to sneak off with a soft toy and gently suckle on it for comfort, which is one of her endearing little habits.

Above all, Lula enjoys a peaceful, steady lifestyle. She prefers the quieter side of life, where she can feel secure, loved, and unhurried. With the right family, she will blossom into a gentle, affectionate companion who brings warmth and calm to the home.

Needs:

Lula is a girl who truly thrives in a calm, peaceful home where she can enjoy her days feeling safe, comfortable, and deeply loved. She isn’t looking for a busy or chaotic environment — a quiet, steady household suits her perfectly and allows her gentle nature to shine.

A secure garden is essential for Lula, giving her a safe space to potter about, relax in the sunshine, and enjoy the fresh air at her own pace. She would also benefit greatly from having a friendly male dog companion, someone who can offer her company and reassurance without overwhelming her.

Although Lula doesn’t struggle with separation anxiety, she is happiest when she has someone around for most of the day. She forms strong bonds and finds comfort in knowing her people are close by. A home where she isn’t left for long periods will help her feel settled and content.

With the right environment — calm, loving, and unhurried — Lula will flourish into the devoted, affectionate companion she is meant to be.

Walk/exercise:

Lula is only just beginning to explore the world on her walks, as her outings have been kept short while she recovered from her pregnancy and the arrival of her puppies. Now that she’s ready for gentle adventures, she enjoys taking her time to investigate new smells and wander at her own pace. Sniffing is one of her favourite ways to experience the world.

She does get a little impatient if she’s asked to stand still for too long — in true Lula fashion, she’ll try to hurry things along by having a playful nibble at the lead. With calm guidance and steady movement, she settles beautifully and continues on her way.

When meeting unfamiliar dogs, Lula is polite and composed. She’ll offer a gentle sniff to say hello, then happily carry on with her walk without fuss. She isn’t looking for play or excitement; she simply enjoys peaceful strolls where she can feel safe, relaxed, and close to her person.

With time, patience, and a calm walking routine, Lula will continue to grow in confidence and enjoy her gentle outings even more.

Toilet trained:

Lula is an exceptionally good girl when it comes to her toileting routine. She has learned to communicate beautifully and will sit patiently by the door to let you know she needs to go outside. Recently, she has even started giving a soft little bark as an extra reminder, just to make sure you don’t miss her cue.

Travel:

Lula is a sensitive little soul when it comes to travelling, and she may start off feeling a bit anxious at the beginning of a journey. With calm reassurance and a soothing voice, she settles well and gains confidence as the trip goes on. She has travelled comfortably on the back seat, especially when she has a soft blanket or familiar scent nearby to help her feel secure.

Lula may show some mild signs of motion discomfort, such as lip‑licking, which suggests she can feel a little queasy during longer drives. Regular breaks, gentle handling, and a relaxed pace help her feel much more at ease.

She is able to travel for journeys of up to four hours from her current location, provided she has the chance to rest, stretch her legs, and take things slowly.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**

Things to be aware of:

Lula is having spay and corrective surgery on the 15^th May so won’t be able to go home until she has been signed off by the vets.

Sometimes Lula can be excited to greet you but she doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Lula has been an absolute joy to foster, and watching her blossom has been one of the greatest privileges. From the moment she arrived as a new mummy, she poured every ounce of her gentle heart into raising her puppies with devotion and quiet strength. Now, with her mothering duties behind her, she is finally free to step into a life that is hers — a life without burden or responsibility, where she can simply be loved for who she is.

We are immensely proud of Lula. Proud of the brave, sweet‑natured girl she has always been, and proud of the incredible journey she has made from nurturing mum to a confident, affectionate companion ready for her forever home. She embodies everything you could ever hope for in a bulldog: gentle, loyal, soulful, and full of quiet courage.

Lula adoption donation fee is £350 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**
