A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Lulu has an incredibly affectionate lady with such a playful nature.
Lulu can initially be a little timid, but it doesn’t take a moment for her sweet and loving side to shine through.
Lulu thrives on attention and affection.
Behaviour:
Lulu doesn’t have all her commands down but is very food motivated and eager to learn.
Lulu loves a good game of rough play with resident dog and is submissive in behaviours.
She isn’t that keen on the bath, but due to her gentle nature will stand & let you bathe her she will allow you to maintain her hygiene (sometimes begrudgingly).
Needs:
Lulu is a really good girl and will suit the majority of home and family environments.
Lulu needs a family who will continue her training and help her reach her full potential.
A garden is a must as she loves to be outside playing.
Lulu will benefit from a playful and laid-back doggy companion.
Walk/exercise:
Lulu loves her walks and can get very excited and does need ongoing training.
Lulu will walk alone and as a pack.
It is clear she wasn’t exercised appropriately prior to GBSR.
Lulu is a stubborn walker and does pull slightly, and she doesn’t stop to sniff
She shows no interest in other dogs or humans on her walks, unless they show an interest in her.
Toilet trained:
Lulu is a good girl.
Travel:
Lulu will happily get in the car, however, is unsure of traveling and will need ongoing reassurance during the journey. Lulu will need to travel using either a seatbelt restraint or a travel crate.
Because of this we will accept applications of no more than 3 – 4 hours from her current location, new owners must be willing to take plenty of breaks should Lulu need them.
Things to be aware of:
We are unsure if Lulu has been spayed as she came from Kennels, because of this Lulu will be adopted on a “to be spayed” contract. Should she need to be spayed this will be done at a vet of the charities choosing costs covered by the charity.
Lulu may need BOAS sometime in the future, but this can be prevented with good diet and lifestyle. Monitoring Lulu’s exercise during the warmer months.
Should BOAS be required this will be the responsibility of the new owners.
Sometimes Lulu is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information:
Lulu is an amazingly happy lady, there hasn’t been a day in foster where she ever appeared sad. Lulu loves everyone she meets and is always excited to say hello. Her playful and affectionate nature make her the ideal family dog. Any family would be lucky to adopt her.
A little of Lulu’s story below,
Let’s extend a warm welcome to Lulu, the newest addition to our GBSR family!
Kat from Appledown Kennels reached out to us earlier this week to seek assistance for this beautiful girl.
Lulu, a 6-year-old female, found herself abandoned on the streets, left without anyone to care for her.
Fortunately, her foster mom, Joanne Ball, stepped in quickly and collected Lulu.
Lulu is now in foster in the South East. Lulu’s personality is both quirky and endearing, and she has a sweet nature, which has meant that Lulu has seamlessly integrated into her new home alongside big sister Bailey and fellow GBSR adoptee, Delilah.
We’re relieved that she’s in reasonably good condition, and we hope she didn’t endure too much time alone on the streets before finding the kindness she truly deserves.
Lulu is seeing the vet during the week so we can have a full health check and get her ready to be spayed.
We can’t wait to watch this beauties story unfold
