A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Maggie is the epitome of a companion dog; she just loves to be with her humans.

Maggie is a gentle and sensitive soul, with an affectionate and loving nature.

Maggie’s charismatic personality and charm will keep you entertained as she clambers on you for cuddles and belly rubs.

Behaviour:

Maggie may start of reserved and quiet and will take time to settle into her new environment however her beautiful nature develops with a little affection and reassurance.

Maggie has done very well learning her commands we would recommend that her training be ongoing in her new home.

Maggie loves to play with toys, balls and tug of war are her favourite, and she shows no possessiveness towards them.

Needs:

Maggie will need time and patience to open up and show her family who she is. During this time, it is important she has a space to decompress fully.

Maggie will suit an active but calm family environment, one with someone home the majority of the day. A family able to commit to her training and helping her reach her full potential.

Maggie is crate trained. This is something we would encourage in her new home as this is her safe space and den.

We would also encourage Maggie’s family to take part in training her the basic skills, this will build a strong bond with Maggie and her confidence will flower.

Maggie would love a garden to play and explore in.

Dog savvy children who understand a bulldog’s behaviours.

Walk/exercise:

Maggie will have her harness put on with no issues and is excited to go out for a walk, she doesn’t pull and walks nicely by your side.

Maggie’s reactions towards dogs are defensive, working on the bond between you and Maggie and making sure her humans can advocate for her will continue to improve her reactions towards other dogs outside the home.

Toilet trained:

Yes, Maggie is a good girl.

Travel:

Maggie can be a little stressed at first but soon settles down, because of this we would consider homes up to four hours away.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Maggie is a very nervous and anxious little girl so lots of time, reassurance and patience will be needed to help her settle in and build a bond between her, and her new owners.

Sometimes Maggie is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as Maggie has the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information from Maggie’s foster Mumma:

Maggie is the most loving and trusting dog I have ever met; she walked in our home extremely nervous but wanted love straight away. She needs a lot of love, patience and understanding. She has so much love to give she just needs a calm stable environment to give that love. She is all the dog you’ll need. She’ll be the best lap dog, the best best friend and the best play mate you’ve ever had!

Maggie’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Maggie’s story below,

Please can we give a heartfelt welcome to Maggie who joined our Springboard family last weekend

Maggie was a sad surrender as her family unit has broken down and as she is 2 ½ and unneutered, we were asked if we could take her to keep her safe

So, this weekend Cathy Hall collected Maggie from her family and transported her to Kate Stockman who will be fostering Maggie in the Midlands

Kate has slowly introduced Maggie to her pack (Thunder, Bear & Mia). Understandably she is a bit wary and nervous as she has only ever known her previous home from a puppy

But Kate is doing a great job with slow introductions, and we want to thank her for opening her home to Maggie and to Cathy Hall for giving up her time to get Maggie into foster for us, thank you very much ladies

Maggie had her vet check earlier today and apart from having a small hernia which will be fixed when she is spayed, she is in tip top condition

So welcome to your Springboard journey little Maggie and we are looking forward to see you progress through foster to your new forever home
