All our hearts are broken with the sudden sad news that Maya, aka dirty squirty, has left us for Rainbow Bridge only 5 weeks after losing her sister Aggy.
Maya came into rescue back in October 2018 with our very own Karen Dixon. She was an ex-breeding bitch, horrendously skinny, dirty, covered in bite marks and cuts and had been living on concrete.
Karen and her family welcomed Maya into their hearts and home and slowly watched this neglected and unloved little girl decompress from a feisty little girl, who was starved and wanting to fight the world, to a girl who had the best life, snuggled in a warm comfy bed with all life’s comforts and had a readymade fur family in Reggie and Aggy.
Sadly, Maya had cancer and at 9 years 7 months, Karen knew the time had come to say their final goodbyes.
Today, Maya took her last journey to the vet and took her final breaths with Karen by her side, surrounded by cuddles and love.
Thank you, Karen and Simon. You have loved Maya unconditionally from the moment you first set eyes on her. Spending everyday nursing her back to health and showering her with so much love, and we cannot express enough of our gratitude to you for making Maya’s life so beautiful. She had the most wonderful life with you, Reggie, and Aggy.
Fly high, beautiful MayMay, follow the light and go find your fur sister Aggy and play free from pain, sweetheart. Wait for mummy and Daddy and your brother Reggie at the bridge.
Maya is one of two girls we rescued last night as an urgent case. She was 5 yesterday 🙁 she is horrendously skinny she has cloudy eyes she’s covered in bite marks and cuts where she’s been fighting with the other bitch 🙁 . She was sold yesterday but the people who bought them both couldn’t help them as their condition is so bad so they called us to help them after buying them for £700.
They gifted her to us and Pete Farrington collected them late last night. Maya is being fostered by Karen Dixon. Welcome to the start of your new life beautiful girl your SprinGBoard journey awaits you.
