Miley -Ready for Adoption!- North East

Miss Miley has lived a bit of a sheltered life, but she is loving new experiences and her adventures, even if they can sometime overwhelm her.

Miley is an incredibly loving young girl, who is finding a new love for fun and adventure, especially if there is a muddy puddle involved.

She has met many a new creature in her foster home, A pig, ducks, chickens, rabbits and taken it all in her stride, as well as resident and foster dogs. She’s not a fan of the cows she has met on her walks though.

Miley absolutely adores children she has such a loving and kind-hearted nature.

Miley loves going for walks, meeting new people and dogs, she can be assertive if receives a negative reaction from unknown dogs, but she holds no malice.

She likes her bed and seems to quite like the security of having her bed in a crate too.

Things to be aware of:

Miley has had a sheltered life and can be unsure and overwhelmed of her new environment and people, but with gentle reassurance and patience she will soon settle and show you just how incredible she is.

As a big girl, she can be quite overpowering if she gets excited and she does like to jump up at people, so small children must be supervised.

Miley’s recall is good but not 100%. If something grabs her attention, she will go explore.

She can be really playful with other dogs but as she is still learning, you do need to just keep an eye

on her in order for her not to get too much for them – a quick call of her name and a ‘NO’ will bring her back in line.

Miley needs some work with commands. She is on the verge of being able to ‘sit’ on command, but this is as far as her skills stretch at present. However, she is eager to learn and therefore with some time, patience and teaching, she would be able to crack basic commands.

Any resident dog must not have any resource guarding or possessive behaviours.

The ideal home:

Miley will suit most home environments, she could be someone’s single companion.

Or be with an active but calm family that will involve her in all that is family life.

She needs an owner who is patient and calm, who will guide her and is willing to put in the basic training that she is lacking.

Miley would benefit from a calm, laid back dog in the home to teach her the ropes and keep her company when the family are away from the home.

Other comments:

Miley is a wonderful character just wants to be loved and has so much love to give a family.

She is a big girl with a timid side to her and needs to build trust in order to feel at ease.

It seems Miley hasn’t had a lot of experiences in the world, therefore a lot of things are new to her and can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for her.

Miley travels well so we will consider homes up to 4hours away from her current location.

Miley’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Miley’s story below,

Please say hello and welcome to Miley

Miley is 3 years old and is a ex breeding bitch.

We were contacted by a lady who had rescued Miley from a life of breeding.

Poor Miley was used as a breeding machine and locked in a crate when she wasn’t needed what a really sad start to her life along come this lovely lady who rescued her but unfortunately due to the hours, she works she couldn’t keep 2 dogs.

Her resident dog goes along to work with her, but Miley didn’t like it, being sheltered from knowing what a good life is Miley preferred to stay at home and seemed a little scared of the big wide world.

She is now being loved and cared for by Teresa. We would like to say a massive thank you to Sue and Miley’s owner for meeting up for the handover.

And to Stephen for taking Miley to her foster home in the North East.

Another beautiful girl coming in to foster with absolutely nothing to call her own.

When she is ready for her forever home her adoption Poster will be shared, so please keep your eyes peeled for more Miley updates.

Welcome to your GBSR Family!

We cannot wait to share the next chapter of your life with you!
