Nev is a very strong and playful young dog who adores playing with his toys, his favourites are balls and his Kong and he like to play rough. Nev also loves human interaction and will sit next to you and enjoy cuddles and strokes.
Nev likes to walk and does so reasonably well in a harness. He can be reactive to other dogs and because of this he is only lead walked, which he is getting better at. His foster mum currently uses a Halti training lead attached to his harness to help with control.
Nev particularly likes having a bath and pamper and is happy to be crated for short periods if left.
Dogs Name: Neville (Nev)
Age: 3 years
Can live with children: Yes, but over 12
Can live with dogs: No
Can live with cats: No
Current location: North East
Things to be Aware of:
Nev is a strong boy who will jump up to snatch at a toy so for this reason we are stipulating the age of children as 12 years and over.
We have discovered that he has a reaction to neon colours which he particularly doesn’t like, and loud noises can make him anxious.
The Ideal Family:
Nev is a fabulous young dog who needs continued training and a strong pack leader. He needs a dog experienced home with owners committed to continue with his training and maintain the boundaries already set by his foster mum.
He needs to be with an active family who will take him on regular walks as he has lots of energy and he needs to have a garden run around and play in.
When Nev came to us he was anxious, displayed no manners and appeared to have had little or no training. His foster mum has worked hard to integrate Nev into a regular family environment and he has made great progress.
Nev’s lack of socialisation, however, has made him anxious around other dogs so his new family will not be able to have dogs visiting or staying, and, because he is still learning manners and boundaries, he is not suitable to be rehomed with a young family.
Nev is learning all the time so with continued training with a dog experienced family he will continue to flourish
If you have any questions, please ask Verity Carnie, Nev’s foster mum.
Nev’ adoption fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.
*** As of April 2019, Geordie Bullies Springboard introduced a small charge to apply to adopt a dog from our charity. *** IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY AGAIN FOR 12 MONTHS***
How will it work?
We will be charging £5.00 per year for membership to apply for a bulldog with the charity, this will also cover the cost of a home check if required.
This fee will cover you for one year from the date you apply, you do not pay per application.
For example, you apply for a dog and pay your £5.00 membership, you have a home check and are not successful for that dog, so you apply again for another dog a few months after, you will not pay another £5.00 assuming your situation is the same.
Please note, there is an exception to the above. If you pay your £5.00 and move within the year and require another home check before you have been successful, there will be a further £5.00 charge to cover volunteer expenses of carrying out a new home check.
