A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Otis is happiest whilst with his favourite person.
He thrives in company and will seek out attention and affection his favourite being cuddles and tummy rubs.
Otis loves to be in the middle of everything and the centre of attention. He will shower his family in love.
Behaviour:
Otis is excitable and will initiate play with other dogs but will make his boundaries known if play is taken too far.
He can be boisterous in play with people, we wouldn’t encourage rough play as he can be mouthy.
Otis resource guards his food, so must be fed separately from other dogs in the home.
Otis can be reactive to sudden loud noises, and he will bark at men wearing hats or hoods.
Needs:
Otis needs a calm family environment, he is most suited to the quieter side of life.
Otis needs a family who understands bulldog behaviour and can instil boundaries.
A family who can help him learn how to enjoy life unhindered by his previous health issues and help him reach his full potential.
Children must be calm and above 15 years old.
He will benefit from a calm doggy companion in the home.
Walk/exercise:
Otis loves his walks, he walks very well alone and with company.
Otis can bark at unfamiliar dogs, this is cautious behaviour and can be distracted.
He loves to explore and enjoys sniffing his environments.
Toilet trained:
Otis is a very good boy, he may have an accident initially as he settles.
Travel:
Otis travels very well and will settle on the back seat. He will become distressed if travelled in a crate.
We will accept applications of up to 4 hours of his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Otis came to GBSR with breathing difficulties, he has undergone BOAS surgery and this has given him a new lease on life and he is still learning how to live unhindered by breathing issues. No further intervention is needed.
Sometimes Otis is reactive to loud sudden noises, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over and will guard and pinch food from them.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Otis is afraid of hoovers, brooms and ironing boards.
Additional information:
Otis came to GBSR a sad little boy unable to lead a full life. Since having his BOAS surgery he is learning just how exciting life can be. He needs a family with patience and ready to help him reach his incredible potential.
Otis’s adoption donation fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little about Otis’ journey
Please join us in welcoming the incredibly handsome Otis to our Geordie Bullies family!
Otis is a 2-year-old male whose family is heartbroken to have to rehome him. They reached out to us through a kind lady who helps find rescues for families and dogs in need. After speaking with Otis’s family, we knew we had to do everything in our power to help.
Otis’s dad is battling terminal cancer and was deeply worried about ensuring Otis’s needs would be met after he could no longer care for him. With heavy hearts, the family decided that finding a new home for Otis was the best way to ensure his happiness and well-being.
The thought of Otis ending up in a harmful situation was unbearable for his dad. He couldn’t bear the idea of his precious boy being lonely or unloved. We couldn’t stand by and let this family worry about both their dad and Otis, so we stepped in to help.
A huge thank you to Trish Plaister and Mandy Carpenter for collecting Otis and transporting him to Kerry Warren and her family in the South West. Kerry, welcome to your first foster journey with us, and thank you so much for opening your heart and home to this precious boy.
Otis is settling in well, though he was understandably stressed at first. Kerry is taking things slowly, helping him explore his new environment and family.
We hope that by helping Otis, we can bring some peace to his family, allowing them to spend their remaining time together without worry.
Our hearts go out to you and we promise we will do everything to find him the very best family. He will only ever know love and happiness with our GBSR family.
