A BIT ABOUT ME

Personality:

Pablo and Cookie are a beautifully bonded pair, each with their own unique personalities

Pablo is a big softy who adores his humans and will actively seek them out for affection.

Add to cookie she’s energetic and playful in nature, and will initiate play with her humans, Pablo and other dogs.

They will seek each other out for cuddles and to shower each other with lots of love and care.

Behaviour:

Pablo can become anxious in new environments and will cry and become vocal, so has medication to help ease his anxiety; however, we feel once he is settled into his forever home he will be able to be weaned off them.

Pablo enjoys playing with toys and loves a good chew toy.

Cookie loves whatever toy Pablo has and will playfully take it off him to gain his attention as she prefers to play with him over toys

They love to rough play with each other and respond well to their human’s command when they get carried away.

Needs:

Pablo and Cookie need a calm but active home, with a family that will keep them included in all that is daily family life. We would encourage active training to build a strong bond between the pair and their humans.

Pablo and Cookie would benefit from having a calm dog in the home to help Pablo’s confidence grow.

A family that are able to meet each of their individual needs with lots of play at home

Continued training will benefit Pablo’s confidence greatly.

Their gentle natures would suit a family with children.

A garden to play and exercise in is a must for Pablo and Cookie

Walk/exercise:

Pablo and Cookie love their walks and enjoy walking together.

Pablo likes to being the lead but responds well to being recalled.

Cookie loves long walks and will walk behind Pablo; she isn’t a fan of mud or puddles.

Pablo is happy to meet other dogs, he will have a sniff and move on when instructed to

Cookie can be anxious to meet other dogs, she is happy to stand back and then continue on her walk.

Toilet Training:

Pablo and Cookie may initially have the odd accident, but with a good routine they will soon understand what is expected of them.

Travel:

Pablo and Cookie travel well so we would consider a home up to 4 hours away from their current location.

We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.

Things to be aware of:

Pablo and Cookie will not be rehomed with any entire dogs.

Pablo has a chicken allergy so will need to stay on his current diet.

Pablo will be going home on a “to be neutered “contract which will be completed by a vet of the charity’s choice, cost covered by the charity. Cookie has been spayed

Pablo will initially need to stay on his current medication Reconcile, the cost of this is £49.80 per month, however once he becomes more settled, he should be able to be weaned off them.

Pablo’s cherry eye can pop out occasionally but is easily be massaged back in and doesn’t require surgery at this time.

Sometimes bulldogs can be excited to play but don’t realise their size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over.

Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Additional information:

Pablo and Cookie love humans and would benefit from a home where their humans will be around. They both love to walk and enjoy long walks, as well as cuddles and play at home.

These beautiful guys have so much love to give, any family will be lucky. In return for their love and patience these guys will show unconditional love, the best slobbery kisses and squishy faces.

Pablo’s and Cookies adoption donation fee is £950 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.

A little of Pablo & Cookies story below,

Pablo & Cookie in foster

Pablo and Cookie are the second pair of dogs we have rescued from the same home.

Pablo is 4 years old and an unneutered male, and Cookie is a 2-year-old unneutered female.

This is a very sad surrender due to their owner’s relationship break down and the owner having some disabilities. She was struggling to take care of all of her dogs on her own and felt it was in their best interests to rehome them, so they receive the love and care they deserve

Thank you to Mandy Carpenter, Trish Plaister, and Michelle Thelma for very kindly road training Pablo and Cookie to their foster mumma, Sue Jackson.

Thank you, Sue, for kindly opening your heart and home to these two beauties. We are very appreciative for all your support with this beautiful duo. Thank you so much.

Pablo and Cookie had an unsettled first night in foster, but that’s to be expected after their long day travelling and leaving their mumma behind.

Pablo is a playful boy who is full of beans. He loves his toys and appears to be confident and adventurous, but he doesn’t like to be separated from his humans, who he loves to love.

Cookie appears to be in good condition apart from a couple of scabs on her ear and the top of her head.

This girl is anxious when outside and relies on Pablo for reassurance.

Cookie adores to love and be loved and is very affectionate.

This gorgeous pair will be visiting our vets for their health assessment in due course.

So please join us in welcoming Pablo and Cookie to their new chapter in their lives.

Welcome to your GBSR family, beautiful girls, and the rest of your furever lives.
