A BIT ABOUT ME
Personality:
Rubble is the perfect blend of affection, resilience, and playful charm everything we love about bulldogs. He’s happiest when he’s close to his people, always ready to be your loyal sidekick in whatever the day brings. Whether it’s a quiet cuddle or a lively game, Rubble thrives on connection and companionship.
His love for toys is matched only by his love for his humans he’ll happily trot over with a favourite in tow, hoping for a bit of play and a lot of affection. Rubble’s gentle, joyful nature makes him a wonderful fit for a family who’ll cherish his company and embrace him as one of their own.
Behaviour:
Rubble is a playful soul with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys. He’s wonderfully vocal during play his growls are all part of the fun and come from excitement, not aggression. Like many young bulldogs, he can get a bit carried away in the moment, so gentle play and clear boundaries will help him stay safe and settled. Occasionally, he might catch a finger while diving for his toy, but it’s never intentional just enthusiasm in action.
Rubble is still discovering the world beyond the garden gate. He finds traffic and busy environments a little overwhelming, so he’ll need patient guidance and positive experiences to build his confidence outdoors. With the right support, Rubble will continue to grow into a joyful, resilient companion.
Needs:
Rubble is looking for a calm, loving home where he can truly settle in and shine. He thrives in a peaceful family environment one that gives him space to play with his favourite toys, soak up affection, and feel part of the daily rhythm.
His foster carers have laid a strong foundation, and Rubble’s future family will need to continue that journey with consistent training and gentle guidance. He’s full of potential, and with the right support, he’ll grow into a confident, well-rounded companion.
A secure garden is essential for this playful boy it’s his happy place for zoomies, sniffing adventures, and toy time. With patience, structure, and lots of love, Rubble will reward his people with unwavering loyalty and endless joy.
Walk/exercise:
Rubble’s relationship with walks is growing alongside his confidence. While he’s not the type to demand a daily hike, he’s learning to enjoy his outings more and more especially when they’re calm, consistent, and full of positive experiences. He walks beautifully on the lead, making strolls with him a relaxed and enjoyable part of the day.
Rubble is polite around other dogs, typically ignoring them unless invited to say hello. Even then, he’s content with a quick sniff and has never shown reactive behaviour. Busy roads and traffic can still feel overwhelming for him, so he’ll need a patient family who can offer gentle reassurance and help him build trust in the outside world.
With time and support, Rubble will continue to blossom into a confident companion one step at a time.
Toilet trained:
Yes, Rubble is a good boy.
Travel:
Rubble travels well, he prefers to be sat in the back with someone with him. We will accept applications of up to 4 hours from his current location.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
**TRANSPORTING DURING WARMER WEATHER IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE CAR AS COOL AS POSSIBLE**
Things to be aware of:
Rubble’s ears will need to be cleaned and maintained regularly.
Sometimes Rubble is excited to play but doesn’t realise his size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as he has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.
Additional information from Rubble’s foster family:
The best-behaved bulldog I’ve ever encountered. Melts everybody’s hearts that see him. He’s very popular and polite. Loves humans.
Rubble’s adoption donation fee is £400 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.

Rubble’s story.
We told you about a petrified little lad who had very sadly found himself in kennels having been picked up off the street ….well here he is, please meet teeny tiny, and very meek, Rubble … join is in welcoming him into our Springboard family
When we enquired about Rubble, we were told he was 11 years old but on rescanning he is younger, our Rubble is 7 years old….. but still
Thank you to everyone who offered to foster Rubble for us after we put a shout out last week for fosters in the North East… we had a fabulous response
Rubble is secure but we always need more foster so we hope you will stay with us and help our dogs
We want to thank John Oswald who stepped forward and collected Rubble from the kennels with Emma Turnbull. Being able to get Rubble from the stressful kennels so quickly was amazing so thank you very much, we really appreciate you giving up your time for this little boy
Rubble has been settling with John over the weekend. He is under weight and is suffering from diarrhoea, so we are looking at his diet and feeding him little and often, bless him
Rubble has already been neutered but he will be having his vet check later this week just to make sure he is not suffering from anything other than undernourishment.
Already Rubble is John’s shadow, we can only imagine how unsettling the past few weeks have been for him
Bulldogs are so sensitive, some more than others, and its going to take a while for Rubble to “unpack” everything that’s happened in his world
It’s just so sad that at 7 years old you can be discarded without a care, our hearts break for him. But he is with us now so he will never be let down again
So please welcome Rubble onto his Springboard journey with us, and we are already looking forward to seeing this little lad fit, healthy and enjoying being loved, cared for and safe for the rest of his life
