Ivy – Now Adopted

Ivy is described by her foster family as a typical Puppy. She is cute and funny but also bitey and naughty!!

Ivy walks well on a  collar and lead. Currently she’s only walked in the garden to get her used to the lead as she is awaiting her 2nd vaccinations. These will be done prior to her going home. She is still a puppy so her joints are fragile so she will need to stick to the puppy walking rule.

Ivy loves her food and is a growing girlie. She will sit for her meals and give all of her paws in excitement!!!

Ivy is extremely intelligent and will be easy to train. She already sits, gives a paw and is learning to wait!

Ivy loves playing like any puppy. She absolutely loves tennis balls and will bring them back to you and loves a good chomp on a buffalo horn!!!

Things to be aware of:

Ivy is extremely cute but also incredibly challenging. She needs firm rules and boundaries going forward from her forever family otherwise her behaviour will leave much to be desired as she grows! We would like Ivy to be enrolled in puppy socialisation classes to aid her training.

Ivy can be very mouthy as she is still very young and her foster family use distraction to help with her behaviour. If she is getting too excited and overwrought she needs to go in her crate to calm down.

Ivy is a typical bully and dislikes the hoover and terrorises the mop!

The ideal home:

Ivy requires a home with knowledge of the breed. She needs a family that will not pander to her cuteness and will continue with firm rules and boundaries as her foster family has.

Ivy will need another dog in the home to give her company and to assist with her training. She must be rehomed with a spayed or neutered dog as she will be entire.

Ivy is very bouncy and can still be quite mouthy . She will need to be rehomed with dog savvy children who know how to calm her behaviour and assist with training.

Other comments:

Ivy is a cheeky naughty girlie who needs a family who will give her firm rules and boundaries, not pander to her cuteness! Ivy  has used a crate in foster to aid her training. She settles well in this for naps and overnight.

As Ivy is being rehomed unspayed, we will arrange for her operation and pay for this. It will be a condition of the adoption contract that this is completed by the new owner at a vet of our choice.

Ivy is still being toilet trained but is learning quickly, she can still have accidents though.  Ivy travels well and we will consider a new home for her up to 4 hours from her current location in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

If you have any questions, please ask Michelle Cathcart foster mum to Ivy.

Ivy’s adoption fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to going home which will also be subject to a home check.
