Annie – Now Adopted!

Annie is home!

We are absolutely delighted to bring you news that Annie has found her forever home with Lesley and Andrew

Annie was collected over the weekend and has been getting lots of lubs and cuddles from her new family and has gained a new BFF in Nora.  Nora and Annie have hit it off with each other more or less straight away which is wonderful to see. Meanwhile Nora is shocked at how loud Annie snores.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our lovely foster Dad Wayne and his gorgeous little assistant Babs the Pug who have done yet another fabulous job preparing Annie for her new home, we are extremely grateful to you both, thank you so much.

Many congratulations to Lesley and Andrew. We hope you have lots of fun with your gorgeous girl.

To Annie have a fabulous life with your new family and your BFF Nora. Be happy sweetheart.

Annie’s previous adoption statement.

Annie is a wonderful and loving young bulldog.

In true bulldog fashion she can be clumsy and has perfected being stubborn and the famous bulldog deaf ear

Annie has adapted very well to living with multiple dogs in her foster home and walks well alone and in a pack. She enjoys a leisurely walk in the evenings having a good sniff as she toodles along.

She really enjoys socialising with other dogs.

Annie absolutely loves a good toy, whether they are hers or not she isn’t picky, and she doesn’t mind sharing. Playing is often on her terms and she does like a quiet nook to nap in.

She thrives on any interaction be it from her human or other dogs in the home. She never gets tired of being fussed and loved and would happily spend all day in your lap. Her absolute favourite is a good tummy rub as she wiggles along on her back.

Annie sleeps happily snoring away in her crate at night in the kitchen.

Things to be aware of:

Annie can be overly playful and sometimes not understand when to stop.

Her foster family monitor play time and help Annie to take time out to calm down.

Annie can be mouthy during play, but she holds no malice.

The ideal home:

Annie needs a family who understand bulldog behaviours.

Annie would thrive in a calmer family home, one which she can be included in daily tasks.

A family who enjoys evening walks and a slightly slower pace in life.

Older children who can understand Annies needs especially for space and quiet.

Any young children visiting must be supervised as clumsy Annie has potential to knock them over.

Annie can be left for up to 4 hours crated.

She will benefit greatly from a fellow calm and laid-back furry playmate, she is currently number 3 in her foster home and she has responded very well as she is a sociable dog.

A little of Annie’s story below,

We were contacted by a lady who had Annie for a few weeks she took her in due to her owner not being able to cope with her.

She was hoping her resident dogs would be ok and settle with her but unfortunately, they didn’t except her, and fights began to break out so she asked us to take her in.

Annie came into foster with no belongings and our wonderful supporters made sure she had every home comfort imaginable.

Annie came in with a skin and ear infection and needed to have regular baths, she also needed to lose a few pounds.

Despite all this foster dad Wayne said she was the happiest little girl.

It wasn’t long before beautiful Annie was adopted, but sadly not every adoption can be a successful one. And it wasn’t long before we were asked to take Annie back.

We are a RESCUE BACK UP FOR LIFE charity and if we can’t support the family in keeping any of our dogs, we will always bring them back.

So sadly, Annie came back to us.

She had started to fight with the resident dog after her diet was changed the family made the heart-breaking decision to return her.

Annie is now back in foster with her original foster dad, Wayne, and Babs in the North West.

And soon settled back into her old routines. It was so sad for us to see her back with us, but we couldn’t be happier that she is still her happy little self and hadn’t become withdrawn.

Annie’s previous adoption statement.

She never gets tired of being fussed and loved and would happily spend all day in your lap. Annie thrives on any interaction be it from her human or other dogs in the home.
