Eden – Sadly crossed the rainbow bridge!

Eden’s story is a sad one, but one we did everything possible to put right.

Eden came to GBSR a frightened, underweight and shut down little girl with no name.

Another soul cast aside once her ability to be a financial asset was completed.

Another greeder made thousands from the sale of her puppies, and not a penny spent on her health care.

Eden’s first 24 hours was spent completely shut down and asleep, in her foster home. Rachelle her foster mum taking each day slowly as Eden decompressed.

We soon started to see a happy, playful and affectionate little girl coming through.

And she was soon ready to take her final journey to her happy ever after.

Eden was adopted and spent a year with her adopted family, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be, and Eden was returned to our care.

Eden was struggling to make friends with the resident dog, it’s sad but sometimes this happens. Edens family were heartbroken and reached out to us. They followed every piece of advice and really tried everything they could to make it work but sometimes it’s just not mean to be. We cannot thank Debby and her family enough for loving Eden and giving her the support she needed whilst with them.

Eden came into foster with Leanne, Max and their dog Bob in the North East.

She settled instantly and we couldn’t have been happier to announce a

Failed Foster Alert!!!

Eden is Home

Eden has well and truly landed on all four paws…

She is staying with her foster family, and we are absolutely delighted

As you know, it’s only in exceptional cases that we allow a foster family to adopt their dog. We were mindful that Eden may have already decided she had found her new forever slaves in Leanne and Max, and we didn’t want to risk another failed rehoming for her, so we were absolutely thrilled when we asked Leanne and Max if they would like to adopt Eden, and they said yes.

Eden was very settled with her fur brother Bob, and they had formed a bond together, with Eden quite often giving Bob a wishy washy with her tongue. They were really becoming quite the duo.

But sadly Edens happily ever after wasn’t as long as we would have liked.

Beautiful #Eden has been called by the angels to Rainbow Bridge

Eden gained her angel wings very suddenly yesterday evening

The day was like any other day, she spent the day with her fur bro Bob, mooching and sleeping and then had a lovely afternoon walk with her dad.  Then she had her tea and waited for her mum to come home.

After her evening meal, she greeted her mummy home with the waggiest of tails one last time before collapsing. She was rushed to the vets, but heartbreakingly, she died in her devastated parents’ arms.

Tragically, Eden had only just been adopted by Leanne and Max and her fur brother Bob 3 days ago, after a failed foster, and her passing has left them in deep shock and absolutely devastated.

Eden was a beautiful girl and a great character, who will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.

We are so sorry she couldn’t stay with you any longer, but the time and love you gave her was the best of her life, and we are truly grateful she found her forever home with you and Bob.

Our hearts go out to you at this saddest of times. Please accept our sincere condolences.

Run free, sweet Eden, find the sun and lay in the grass, and just keep an eye over your family. Try not to worry about the tears on your parents’ cheeks… they will soon dry, and one day, they will be able to remember you with tears of joy and not of sadness, because you really brought a shining light into their lives.

You will never be forgotten. Fly high, beautiful Eden, and wait for your family at Rainbow Bridge.
