George – Now Adopted

George is a young boy who likes to be part of any action going on in his home. He loves being around the children in his foster home and he is very playful. George is ball mad and will keep bringing it back for you to throw for him.

He is a mouthy boy and will mouth you gently while you stroke his face or during grooming.

George is still learning commands and manners and he can still be a bit boisterous and will have a fit of the zoomies if he gets excited.

He walks well on the lead and likes to be in front all the time and his recall has not been tested. He hasn’t met any dogs whilst in foster, but his previous owners mentioned he was okay with dogs he met on walks but he can be off with other male dogs and her prefers female dogs.

Dogs name:  George

Age:  1 Year

Can live with children:  Yes

Can live with dogs:  No

Can live with cats:  Untested

Current location:  Basildon, Essex

Things to be aware of:

George has been diagnosed with BOAS but there is a probability that this will get better as he carries on maturing. If it is deemed, he needs BOAS surgery in the future, we will organise this at the charities cost and at a vets practice of our choice.

He also has a small cherry eye gland that pops out when excited. This is easily massaged back in and does not require treatment.

George isn’t a lover of hoovers, ironing boards, brooms and having lots of excitable children around him. And he will pick up toys and chew them if he gets a chance, he will also have a sneaky chew on a table leg if he can get away with it.

The ideal home:

George needs a home where is will be included in activities. He loves being around people and will chew if he gets bored so we will be looking for a home where he will not be left for long periods.

He loves the children in his foster home, so we are happy for him to be rehomed with a family although he can be boisterous so and young children would need to be supervised.

Ideally George will have a garden to play in with his favourite ball.

Other comments:

George has only just turned 1 so he still has a lot to learn. He will be happy living with or without children and he can become overwhelmed and cower if there are too many children around him.

George will be recalled for castration surgery when he is around 18 months old, and the cost of this will be covered and organised by the charity at a vet of our choice.

He is toilet trained and travels well in the car, so we are looking for a new home up to 4 hours from his current location.

George’s adoption fee is £500 and will need to be paid in full prior to him going home which will also be subject to a home check.
