Hope – In Foster – Wales
Hope’s Story
When this little girl first came to our attention, she had no microchip, no known age and not even a name to call her own and at only 10kg she was clearly malnuroshed
Hope had been handed into a vets as a stray before finding herself in kennels with the dog warden, waiting for someone to give her a chance. We couldn’t bear the thought of her being left without knowing what the future held, so we stepped in to give her the fresh start she desperately needed. Hope is safely in foster with Ian!
A huge, heartfelt thank you to Ian for opening his home and his heart to this little girl. Taking in a dog who arrives with an unknown history and so many unanswered questions is such a special thing to do, and we are incredibly grateful that Hope now has someone looking out for her. Thank you for giving her a safe place to rest, recover and begin discovering what it means to be loved. You are already making such a difference to her life.
Hope has already had her health check, and we’re pleased to share that everything else has come back clear, with no other health concerns identified. The vet estimates that she is around two to three years old and believes she has had one litter. She’s gaining weight nicely, although she is expected to remain a petite little girl even when fully grown.
Unfortunately, Hope will need BOAS surgery to help improve her breathing and give her the best possible quality of life. She also has very little muscle tone at the moment, so we’ll gradually build up her walks and exercise as she grows stronger. We’ll make sure she gets the care, support and time she needs every step of the way.
Hope has also now been microchipped, so although she started her journey with us with no identifying information at all, she finally has a name and a team of people committed to helping her build a brighter future.
And Ian has already been busy making sure Hope feels a little extra special, treating her to a lovely pamper session! We can only imagine how good it must feel for this little girl to be warm, comfortable and receiving the gentle care she deserves. Thank you again, Ian, for going above and beyond for her.
Hope’s journey is only just beginning, and there is still a little way to go, particularly with her breathing. But she is no longer an overlooked little stray waiting in kennels. She is Hope, she is safe, and she finally has people fighting her corner.
Welcome to the Springboard family, beautiful Hope. We promise to do everything we can to help you feel better, grow stronger and enjoy the happy life you deserve. One step at a time, little girl. Your brighter future starts here.
Please note: Hope has only just arrived in foster and her applications are not currently open. She needs time to settle, undergo her veterinary treatment before we can consider applications. Please do not attempt to apply for Hope until her applications are officially opened. We will let you know when that time comes.
