Meika – Now Adopted
Meika is a young energetic fun-loving bulldog. She is a cheeky girl with bags of character. She understands basic commands and her recall is generally good. She is food orientated and she learns quickly using small treats.
She is happy to walk with another dog or on her own. She is nonplussed about dogs she meets whilst out and will walk off once they have had a sniff. She is very playful and loves to have her ball thrown for her and at home she enjoys a bit of rough play and her tuggy toys.
Meika has never shown any possessiveness over toys or food whilst in foster with her Boxer Fur Brother Kobe and her foster mum describes her a follower, not a leader.
She loves a cuddle and fuss and enjoys being stroked all over and she adores being around people and being involved in family life.

Can live with cats: Untested in the home – disinterested outside.

Things to be aware of:
Meika has cherry eye in both eyes and occasionally, when she gets excited, the gland will pop out.
This is easily rectified by a quick massage – we will advise how, and the glands pop back in. She has some eye drops daily to help with this but it’s all very manageable.
Also, Meika has had ear problems in the past which has left some scarring so its essential that her new owners are prepared to clean Meikas ears regularly to make sure no further problems arise.
Meika came into foster with a history of allergies. She has been having Burns Pork & Potato complete dog food since she came in and this will need to be continued in her new home.
The ideal home:
Meika can live with children and will become as excited as they are so care will need to be taken around young children.
She needs 2 walks a day where she can run after her ball and use up some energy and it would be lovely for her to be rehomed with another friendly dog for companionship.
Other comments:
Meika has had the odd accident overnight, she isn’t crated so this might be an option to consider in her new home. Meika is spayed and travels well in the car so we will consider a new home up to 4 hours from her current location in Reading
