Nelly – Now Adopted!

Please welcome our beautiful Nelly back into the arms of her GBSR family

Nelly was adopted with her companion Spud 5 years ago. They lived happily together for many years a true married couple.

Sadly, Spud passed away last year shattering Nellys world. She has really struggled without him and being alone while the family were out at work. Nelly has developed separation anxiety and the family felt they couldn’t give her what she needed.

So, we brought her back to us.

Nelly is 8years old and it is completely unfair for us to put her through our usual foster process. We worked as quickly as possible to find the perfect volunteer who would adopt Nelly and see her through her retirement years.

Nelly is in foster with the amazing Carole Malone, who didn’t let us finish our sales pitch before she said bring her home to me. Nelly will be in foster for a short period of time while we get her a full health check and see to any possible needs she may have before she is adopted by Carole.

We will have our very own Golden girls as these 2 fabulous ladies grow old together.

We are all thrilled to now be able to announce that officially Nelly is home!!

Nelly came back into the arms of GBSR  in January through no fault of her own and at the grand old age of 8 we thought it would be in her best interest to offer her a foster to adopt home.

The wonderful Carole jumped at the chance to open her home and her heart to Nelly!

It was love at first sight for these ladies.

They are a right comedy duo together with Carole calling herself and Nelly “The Golden Girls!”

Nelly was quite nervous coming back into foster, but she has really flourished under Carole’s love, care and guidance. They now enjoy watching TV together and afternoon snoozes! 

It really is a match made in heaven!!

So, will you all please join us in congratulating Our Golden Girls on finding each other and bringing so much joy to each other lives!
