Personality:
Fendi has a big personality and is very much a little character. She is confident, affectionate and full of Bulldog charm, with a stubborn streak and plenty of attitude. She has a funny, quirky side and loves to give her famous side-eye, especially when she is disturbed from her beauty sleep!
Despite her sass, Fendi is a very loving and loyal girl. She is extremely affectionate and loves cuddles and being close to her people. She will happily follow you around the house and enjoys being part of whatever is going on. She can be quite sleepy and laid-back at times, but when she wants something, she can be very determined.
Overall, Fendi is a lovely combination of stubborn, funny, affectionate and loyal. She has plenty of character and is sure to keep her family entertained with her little quirks and her very strong opinions!
Behaviour:
Fendi’s behaviour is generally very good. She has been easy to manage in foster and has shown no guarding behaviour. If she is asked to leave something, she does so, although she may sometimes follow you afterwards in the hope of getting the item back. She has never shown any concerning behaviour when being asked to leave something.
She enjoys toys, particularly anything that squeaks, and likes playing with her rubber ball, pig and soft toys. There have been no concerns around possessiveness with her toys.
Fendi knows “sit” and “paw”, although she tends to do them on her own terms! She also understands “leave” and will respond when asked. Her recall has not yet been tested.
Needs:
Fendi would benefit from a home with a good balance of calm and activity. She needs a family who can give her companionship, attention and plenty of affection, while also allowing her to have quiet time when she wants to rest.
Fendi would also benefit from continued training, particularly working on her recall, as this has not yet been tested.
She will need a secure garden where she can safely potter around and enjoy some time outside without being able to wander off. A crate should also be available for her, as she is comfortable using one with the door left open. She currently chooses to sleep either in her open crate or in her bed, so having this as a familiar safe space in her new home would be beneficial.
Walk/exercise:
Fendi really enjoys her walks and wears a harness, with no pulling reported by her foster family. She enjoys exploring and particularly loves being around water. She has walked both alongside other dogs and on her own and has been comfortable in both situations. When she meets other dogs, she is happy to say hello with a sniff and then continue walking. If she is not allowed to greet, she can become excited and may chat and jump but will carry on when asked.
Her walks have been kept short while she recovered from her BOAS surgery. Now that her surgery is complete, she may be able to gradually increase the length of her walks, but she will need to be closely monitored as she can still be sensitive to overexertion and overheating.

Travel:
Fendi is very good in the car and really enjoys travelling. She is happy to settle down and lie nicely rather than becoming overexcited or trying to move around the vehicle. She particularly enjoys sitting on the front seat where she can rest her head on the armrest and have a snooze. Because of this we would consider homes up to four hours away from her foster home.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Fendi has recently undergone BOAS surgery, including her tonsils being removed, soft palate shortened and thinned, laryngeal saccules removed and her nostrils widened. She subsequently developed aspiration pneumonia but has completed her course of antibiotics. She can still be sensitive to overexertion and overheating, so her exercise will need to be built up gradually and monitored.
Her foster family has also noticed that she can develop stiff legs and a limp on her left side if she has been led in one position for a long period or has overexerted herself. The vet has advised that half a paracetamol can be given if this occurs, which has helped settle it.
Fendi is currently eating Purina Pro Plan HA Hypoallergenic veterinary biscuits. Her previous owner reported an allergy to chicken, so she should remain on her current hypoallergenic diet.
Fendi came into season while in foster care, so she will be going to her new home on a spay contract. As a charity, GBSR we pay up to £350 towards the cost of a basic spay.
Sometimes Fendi is excited to play but doesn’t realise her size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as she has the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Fendi is a wrinkly queen who wakes up every morning fully convinced she runs the world. She struts around with the swagger of someone who’s never once been wrong! She’s built like a tiny tank but powered entirely by snorts, food, and dramatic side eye. Her love language is slow-motion cuddles, side‑eye, and breathing loudly for no reason. She’s equal parts stubborn, sleepy, and loyal best friend — a perfect blend of chaos and charm wrapped in a squishy, wrinkly package.
Fendi gives side‑eye like a tiny bulldog auntie who has seen things and refuses to be impressed. If you dare disturb her nap, move her blanket, or breathe too enthusiastically, she’ll turn her head one millimetre at a time — like a rotating security camera — until her eyes lock onto you with the intensity of someone silently saying, “Really?”. Her face can stay perfectly still, but her wrinkles somehow rearrange themselves into the shape of disappointment. It’s adorable, dramatic, and slightly threatening in the way only a bulldog can manage. She doesn’t bark; she doesn’t growl — she just judges.
Fendi is basically a real-life jacket potato with opinions. She waddles through life like a tiny, wrinkled Princess who believes every room she enters is her kingdom. Her hobbies include dramatic sighing, judging you from wherever she is sat, and pretending she cannot possibly break her beauty sleep — until someone opens a snack.
At times it is like she has the confidence of a celebrity and the energy of a sleepy toddler, which means she will strut proudly for five steps and then collapse like she has just finished the London Marathon. She is stubborn in the way only a bulldog can be: if she doesn’t want to move, she will become a gorgeous decorative floor ornament; If she wants something, she will easily transform into a determined bowling ball with legs.
However, despite all the sass, she is nothing but a soft-hearted cuddle machine. She will love every inch of you with her whole squishy face, follows you EVERYWHERE like a slow-moving shadow, and then turn around and snort/grunt like she is desperate to tell you all the gossip. She will make the perfect and loyal best friend alongside a perfect blend of chaos and charm.
Fendi’s adoption donation fee is £450 and will need to be paid in full prior to her going home which will also be subject to a home check.
**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Fendi’s Story
Please welcome our newest arrival, Fendi.
Sadly, Fendi and Buttercup were both surrendered to us following a relationship breakdown. These situations are always incredibly heartbreaking, but we were so grateful to be able to offer both girls a safe place and the chance of a fresh start.
Both girls were 4 years old, unspayed, and arrived with their own cheeky and lovable personalities. They quickly settled into the care of our wonderful foster team, where they were given the love, care and reassurance they needed.
From the beginning, we knew that both girls were struggling with their breathing and would require further veterinary assessment. Buttercup was assessed and underwent emergency BOAS surgery in the hope that it would finally allow her to breathe more comfortably and give her the chance of the happy, healthy future she deserved.
Sadly, what was found during Buttercup’s surgery was far more severe than we could ever have imagined. Tragically, despite the incredible efforts of the veterinary team and everything that was done to save her, Buttercup suffered severe complications following her surgery and went over the rainbow bridge.
Her loss has left us absolutely heartbroken. In the short time Buttercup was with us, she was loved and cared for so deeply, and our entire team fought for her every step of the way. We only wish she had found her way to us sooner.
Fendi also requires BOAS surgery and will be receiving the veterinary care and treatment she needs before she can begin her search for a forever home. For now, she is safe in foster, where she will be given plenty of time to settle and decompress while we continue to assess her needs and put the right plan in place for her.
Fendi will also be spayed once it is appropriate for her to undergo the procedure and her veterinary treatment has been completed.
At this stage, Fendi is not available for applications or expressions of interest. As always, we do not accept applications until our dogs have been fully assessed and are ready to begin looking for their forever homes.
