Personality:
Reign and Ronnie are a lovely, affectionate, bonded pair who are friendly, happy and full of character. They both enjoy attention and are more than happy to receive fuss and cuddles, including from people they meet out and about.
Reign is the livelier and more outgoing of the two, while Ronnie is a little calmer and more laid-back. They both have a sweet, affectionate nature and enjoy being around people, with plenty of love and companionship to give.
Although they can have their little moments with each other, they are generally a happy pair and have really shown just how loving and likeable they both are.
Behaviour:
Reign and Ronnie do enjoy playing, although they are not especially interested in the rubber toys they came with. They have enjoyed playing tuggy with their foster family and with each other, and they have also enjoyed cuddly toys, although these tend not to last very long!
Reign and Ronnie enjoy playing together and particularly like a game of bulldog bitey face! They can get a little carried away when they’re playing, so it’s best to keep an eye on them and give them a gentle break if things become a bit too lively.
Reign and Ronnie have some basic training, and both understand “sit” and “paw”. Their recall has not been tested, so this would need to be worked on in their new home. They will also need continued training around commands such as “leave” and general obedience to help them develop their skills further.
Reign is very good with being groomed and cleaned and has no areas that cause concern. Ronnie is more reluctant and clearly doesn’t enjoy being cleaned, particularly if he sees wipes or a flannel, and may try to hide. He has never shown any concerning behaviour during grooming, but he does need to be handled gently and patiently. Interestingly, Ronnie is completely fine with being bathed.
Needs:
Reign and Ronnie will need a home that is committed to keeping their routines consistent and giving them plenty of time and patience to settle in. They are currently fed Purina Hypoallergenic food, which will need to be continued in their new home. As a bonded pair, they will also benefit from having individual attention and one-to-one time with their family, alongside plenty of opportunities to enjoy each other’s company. Their adopters should be prepared to provide a calm, structured environment where they can continue to settle and thrive together.
Reign and Ronnie will need a secure, enclosed garden in their forever home where they can safely explore, play and enjoy some time outdoors together.
Walk/exercise:
Both can become excited when they see their leads and can pull strongly on walks, with Reign particularly persistent. Ronnie tends to settle somewhat as the walk continues. Because of their strength, they will need a confident and physically capable handler who can manage them safely, particularly while they continue to work on their lead manners. Their new family will also need to be prepared to put time into ongoing training to help them learn to walk more calmly and appropriately on lead.
Reign and Ronnie have both been positive when seeing unfamiliar dogs out and about. Reign is more interested in other dogs and appears keen to approach and say hello, while Ronnie is generally less interested. No concerning behaviour towards unfamiliar dogs has been seen, although their interactions have been limited, so sensible and cautious introductions are recommended.
Toilet trained:
Reign and Ronnie are both house trained. Reign had a couple of accidents following her surgery and on occasions when the weather was particularly bad, but otherwise both have been clean in the home. As with any move, adopters should expect that there may be the occasional accident while they settle into their new surroundings.
Travel:
Reign and Ronnie travel well in the car. They are happy to hop in when the doors are open and generally settle down on the back seat after a short while. They may get back up when travelling through slower areas, but otherwise they are relaxed travellers and have no issues getting in or out at the other end. Because of this we would consider homes up to for hours away from their foster home.
We recommend using a seatbelt restraint or travel crate whenever transporting dogs.
Things to be aware of:
Reign and Ronnie are a close pair and can have the occasional little disagreement, usually around food or wanting their own way. These moments are generally very short-lived, and they soon settle back down together. Their new family will just need to be mindful around mealtimes and give them a little space when needed, allowing them to enjoy the lovely bond they share.
Reign recently had BOAS surgery and is recovering really well. While in foster, she has also had a season, so she will be going to her forever home on a spay contract. GBSR will contribute up to £350 towards the cost of a basic spay, which will need to be carried out at the agreed time following her season.
Reign is currently requiring eye drops and may need entropion surgery in the future, depending on how her eyes progress. Her new family will need to be prepared to continue with her eye care and any further treatment that may be recommended.
Sometimes Reign & Ronnie are excited to play but don’t realise their size, any young children in the home must be supervised, as they have the potential to jump and knock children over.
Children must understand that bulldogs need time to settle in and have space to rest peacefully and uninterrupted.

Reign and Ronnie are a lovely pair who have brought so much joy to both of their foster families. They are affectionate, friendly and full of character, and they have a wonderful bond with each other. Although they can have the occasional little disagreement, it really is a case of over as quickly as it starts, and before long they are back to cuddling up together as though nothing happened. They are a pair who will bring lots of love and companionship to their forever home, and whoever is lucky enough to adopt them will have two very special bulldogs to share their lives with.
Reign & Ronnie’s adoption donation fee is £1000 and will need to be paid in full prior to them going home which will also be subject to a home check.
**Every dog rehomed by GBSR receives Rescue Back-up for their whole Life. And the admin team are available for advice and support for the whole of that dog’s lifetime via Messenger, therefore the successful applicant will need to have an active Facebook and Messenger account for the life of the dog. If you cannot agree to this, please don’t apply**

Reign’s & Ronnie’s story
Please join us in welcoming Reign & Ronnie to the Springboard family.
Ronnie and Reign are a bonded pair who were surrendered into our care after their owner was no longer able to meet their needs following a relationship breakdown.
Ronnie is a 3-year-old entire male, and Reign is a 2.5-year-old entire female. Despite all the changes they have recently experienced, they are already beginning to settle into foster care and are taking everything in their stride.
They spent their first week with Lynsey in the Midlands before making the journey to their foster home with Heather and her family. We would like to say a huge thank you to both Lynsey and Heather for stepping forward to help Ronnie and Reign when they needed it most.
The pair will soon be booked in for their full health checks, and we will keep everyone updated on their progress.
Please note that Ronnie and Reign have only just arrived in foster care, so applications are not open at this time. Right now, our priority is giving them the time they need to settle, feel safe, and adjust to their new surroundings. We look forward to sharing more updates with you as they continue their journey.
