Maggie-Mae – Adopted

Maggie-Mae – Adopted

Failed Foster Announcement

Maggie-Mae is home… and she hasn’t had to move a paw.

Maggie-Mae arrived into foster at the beginning of June following a very sad surrender. Sadly, her owners had separated and were no longer able to meet her needs, so the difficult decision was made to ask for our help.

Little did we know that our beautiful girl would find her forever home with the very family who welcomed her into foster. From the moment Maggie-Mae joined Colin, Alison, and their daughter Elsie, it was clear she had landed on all four paws.

Colin and Alison are valued members of our volunteer team and have opened both their hearts and their home to a number of dogs in need over the years, including Lady, Apollo, Coisty, Bear, and most recently, Maggie-Mae. While not every foster journey has been easy, they have always shown unwavering patience, compassion, and commitment to every dog that has come through their door.

As the time approached to begin looking for Maggie-Mae’s forever home, Colin and Alison realised that she had already found it. They asked if they could adopt her, and it was a decision we were absolutely delighted to say yes to. It was obvious the whole family had fallen completely in love with Maggie-Mae, and she adored them just as much.

As Maggie-Mae needs to be the only dog in the home, Colin and Alison will be taking a step back from fostering. While we’ll certainly miss having them as foster carers, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for everything they have done for the dogs in our care. Your kindness, patience, and dedication have changed so many lives, and we’re delighted that you’ll continue to support GBSR as valued volunteers in a non-fostering role.

Please join us in congratulating Colin,

Maggie-Mae’s Story

Please join us in welcoming #MaggieMae to the GBSR family.

Maggie-Mae has sadly been surrendered by her owner, who recently lost her partner and is no longer able to manage Maggie-Mae’s needs. We are grateful that we were able to step in and offer support during such a difficult time, and we would like to extend our sincere condolences to her owner for her loss.

Maggie-Mae has been with her family since she was a puppy and is described as a loving and affectionate girl. One thing we have already discovered about her is her absolute obsession with footballs. It didn’t take long for her foster family to notice, and she has already brought plenty of smiles with her enthusiasm for her favourite toy.

Maggie-Mae is a 6-year-old neutered girl who has previously lived with other dogs. However, those relationships were not always straightforward, so she has moved into a dog-free foster home with Alison and Colin, where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy plenty of one-to-one attention.

Following her veterinary health check, we are pleased to confirm that Maggie-Mae’s hair loss has been diagnosed as seasonal alopecia. We are also continuing to investigate concerns regarding her left leg, where there is a possible luxating patella, to ensure she receives any treatment or support she may require.

Maggie-Mae is already settling into foster care, and we are looking forward to getting to know her better over the coming weeks. We can’t wait to watch her confidence grow and see more of her personality shine through as she begins this new chapter.

Please note that Maggie-Mae is not currently available for adoption. We will not be accepting applications or enquiries for her at this stage. As always, we will keep everyone updated when she is ready to begin her search for a forever home.
