That’s a tough one, as many people said to us when we said we was fostering, the biggest challenge initially is letting go after looking after the dog for so long, however the rewards are worth it.
I've always had a love for the English / British bulldog since a young age and to finally get one of my own was a dream come true, then to lose one so quick luckily didn't put me off having another one.
We all have one thing in common and that is the love of bulldogs. We were thinking of getting another dog and decided instead to help the dogs in need of a warm home, good food and lots of love.
I was invited by a friend to become a volunteer and had no hesitation to accept! I was already aware of the charity on Facebook and had seen some of the great work they had been doing.
The first week with Branston was a challenge. He had a urine infection so was frequently incontinent. He also had separation issues so he couldn’t be left for any period of time without howling.
I had wanted to foster for a long time but l hadn't been in a position to do so. I lost my first Bulldog, Stan in 2017, he had a wonderful life with us and l wanted to make a difference to another Bulldog's life.
As a family we love the bulldog breed and already had two of our own. We felt that being a foster family and helping others find their forever home was something we would love to be a part of...
